The world of the 90s and beyond will belong to managers or those who make the numbers dance, as we used to say, or those who are conversant with all the business jargon we used to sound smart. The world will belong to passionate, driven leaders -- people who not only have an enormous amount of energy but who can energize those whom they lead.
Education is a private matter between the person and the world of knowledge and experience, and has little to do with school or college.
Education would be much more effective if its purpose was to ensure that by the time they leave school every boy and girl should know how much they do not know, and be imbued with a lifelong desire to know it.
They say that we are better educated than our parents' generation. What they mean is that we go to school longer. It is not the same thing.
Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that , you'll make a difference.
It is indeed ironic that we spend our school days yearning to graduate and our rmaining days waxing nostalgic about our school days.
